Why did you join Opticos?

As I was nearing the completion of my M.Sc. in Business and Economics, I was seeking an opportunity that would allow me to to apply the theoretical knowledge I had gained in a practical, real-world setting. The field of management consulting appealed to me greatly, as it offered the chance to work on a variety of projects and engage with a diverse range of clients, which I saw as an excellent way to broaden my knowledge base. Moreover, I was convinced that a graduate program would provide me with a solid foundation in management consulting and equip me with the skills necessary to excel in this field. In my search, I was particularly drawn to smaller firms with an ambition to grow, a high level of internal expertise, and a strong culture of knowledge sharing and collaboration. That’s when I came across Opticos and the Young Professionals Program. It seemed like the perfect match for me, aligning seamlessly with my career aspirations and values.

You are part of the Young Professional Program at Opticos. What is it like?

The program has been essential for my professional growth. It has provided me with valuable tools, theoretical knowledge and training, all while I have been engaged in client assignments. This blend of theory and practice has excelled my development and expanded my knowledge base, enabling me to apply what I have learned to my client projects from the beginning. Being a part of the Young Professionals Program has been a great experience as it has given me the chance to learn from my fellow YPP participants, share experiences, and build relationships. The support and positivity from both senior colleagues and former YPP members have been incredible, making me feel like a valued team member from day one.

What is the best part about your job at Opticos?

Working at Opticos has given me a multitude of rewarding experiences. The support from my colleagues, especially during client assignments, is invaluable. Their readiness to lend a hand whenever needed shows a strong sense of reliability and trust. Being involved in client assignments from the start has not only been a stimulating challenge but also a rapid learning curve, and being able to be engaged in a variety of projects keeps the work exciting as you're continuously learning something new. Further, the social activities and conferences foster a deep sense of unity and enhance our teamwork – creating a fun working climate.
